Liz Albert

This is a deeply cool exhibition that was showing outside of Boston until the need for social distancing led to its early closure. Artist Liz Albert sent along these photos of the exhibit, as well as a video of it that was made by the museum. Be sure to read what Liz had to say about it, because the conceit of this show is truly very intriguing!

From the artist:

My photographs are comprised of images from 35mm slides, shot in the 50’s and 60’s, that I buy from anonymous sources and arrange into diptychs to create a fictional narrative.

I had a solo photography show, which ended early, up at The Danforth Museum, outside of Boston, in Framingham, MA. My show included 21 large-scale photos (17” x 47”) arranged in three rows around a room painted with black walls. The prints were attached to the walls with magnets.  Also, there was a slide projector set up on a podium, along with two 35mm slide sheets attached to the wall, with light behind them.  The show began January 12th and was supposed to come down April 5th. After the museum closed, The Danforth made a wonderful video about the show - I applaud them for their continued support! Also thank you to Will Howcraft for the excellent installation shots.
