by side by

Boston, MA/New York, NY, USA - Adversity continues to breed innovation. While this piece may have originally been planned for the stage, it breathes so easily in it’s virtual form that I can’t imagine it any other way. Press play and lose yourself in this perfect marriage of movement, music, and cloudy vista.

From the Artists, Margaret Wiss and Mike Brun: 'by side by' is a visual meditation, a continuum in which the movement sequences confront the constants and variables of place and time during Corona. Margaret Wiss’s solitary figure slowly and reverently communing with the ever-changing landscape is complimented by the spare and evocative piano composition of Mike Brun. The repeated ritual, sensual as it is restrained, solitary as it is connected, is a panorama of resilience and hope. The collaborative project began in March with plans for a staged work. It was quickly redesigned when Margaret & Mike left to quarantine in two different states. This piece was made entirely virtually from March to May of 2020.
