Nuit d’etoile

London, ENGLAND - As festivals continue to be cancelled, more musicians are losing their opportunities to showcase their incredible talent. Ana Sofia da Silva Teixeira is one of these musicians. She’s a wonderful singer and we’re glad she decided to share her great work with us!

From her submission: Hello, my name is Ana Sofia da Silva Teixeira, I am originally from Porto, Portugal and I am sending for the Social Distancing Festival a video with me singing a piece named "Nuit détoile" by Debussy, that would have been performed at the Blackheath Music Festival on the 8th, 9th and 10th of May, in London, United Kingdom, but it was cancelled due to the pandemic. I would have participated as a soloist singing the song "Nuit d'etoile" (Starry Night) by Debussy at the Blackheath Music Festival in May at London, United Kingdom

The piece is from the Impressionist movement and it is about longing for a lost love, nature and the surroundings evoke feelings and memories from the past.

Check out what Ana’s up to on her Facebook page.
