Chicago, USA- This post was submitted by  Ele Matelan, Director of Outreach for WildClaw Theatre!

From the submission:

Chicago's WildClaw Theatre has postponed their twelfth annual Deathscribe, the only annual international festival of live horror audio drama. Every year, we seek 10-minute radio scripts that are genuinely scary, imaginative, chilling, intelligent, suspenseful, horrific or downright grotesque. We select 5 scripts to perform on stage in front of a live audience, directed by and starring some of Chicago's hottest onstage talent, backed by a full band and a team of Foley artists generating all sound effects live. The writer of the winning piece, chosen by a celebrity panel of judges, receives the coveted Bloody Axe Award, as well as a cash prize.

With a typical audience of 300 people, we recognized our traditional production model could not move forward without putting our community at severe risk. Rehearsals for many of the featured stories were near completion.

Attached are choreography notation excerpts for onstage Foley performance for 3 of the 5 scripts selected as finalists for Deathscribe XII. The excerpted scripts are:

  • 'Adia' by Travis Williams

  • 'The Elephant's Foot' by Jim McDoniel

  • 'Here, Have a Nightmare' by Tim Griffin
