Here’s what Tadhi included in his submission: My name is Tadhi Alawi a performing artist based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Last December I have made my short dance film named BODY vs MOUTH that has been submitted to Dare2Dance public Festival and my film has been selected as the best interface with the public 2020. This was a grateful news that helped my art to be known somewhere in Los Angeles. It wasn’t enough my art being presented only LA but I tried myself to share and submitted my art at the different platforms out of Tanzanian, I had luck to be selected in Laois Dance Platform in Ireland and I was supposed to go there as to present my short dance film and performing my new solo in the festival which will take place from 1st to 5th of April. Due to the social distancing regarding the COVID issues the festival had to postpone until the Irish government to announce back. They Laois Dance Platform team still have no idea when they will prepare for this festival again. I am Waiting for updates.

This case has been impacted in my short dance film and my premiere solo that had a chance to be presented there. Tanzania is one of the countries which has a few dance Platforms in particular the contemporary dance platforms. For me to miss this Laois Dance Platform means I miss a chance to share my art with International audiences and also to observe other arts from different countries in the world. I feel in a way of not growing more because I believe in presenting work to the big platforms makes my short dance film and performance more value
