SOME IMPORTANT UPDATES:

  • Things have changed since we started, and so are the ways we’re doing things. While this site was initially all about showcasing work that had been cancelled/disrupted/delayed, we are now open to figuring out interesting ways to present new/developing work.

  • We are also working in partnership with some very exciting arts organizations, creating new opportunities for artists to exhibit their work. If you’re an arts org that’s interested in partnering, don’t hesitate to get in touch!

  • Unfortunately, due to the volume of submissions, we are not able to post all submissions, and do not accept student work.

If your post is selected for submission, you will be contacted over email when your post is going live. I’m sorry, but we are only able to contact those who have been selected for exhibition on the site.

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

With your submission, PLEASE include the following (this is important as the information you give here will be used to populate your submission’s posting should it be posted)

(it might help to just cut and paste the following into the email)

For general submissions (NOT live streams):

NAME

PRONOUNS

YOUR ROLE IN THIS PROJECT/WITH THIS COMPANY (ie: artist, producer, director)

CITY AND COUNTRY YOU ARE SUBMITTING FROM (please include both)

EMAIL ADDRESS

TITLE OF SUBMISSION

DESCRIPTION OF SUBMISSION (Please include a description of what the piece is about, and - REQUIRED - details about the production/presentation of this work that was disrupted/cancelled/inspired by the need for social distancing. Not including this information may result in your submission not being considered. Also, if others need to be credited in this submission, please do so. This section will likely be quoted in the post.)

YOUTUBE/VIMEO/OTHER LINKS (if applicable. Please be sure that your security settings on the video will allow it to be embedded and that it is NOT password protected)

IF AN ART SUBMISSION - ATTACH THE SPECIFIC PIECES YOU WOULD LIKE US TO CONSIDER (Preferably no less than 3)

SOCIAL MEDIA HANDLES AND WEBSITES (for referencing once posted - important to drive viewers to your work)

PLEASE ATTACH AN IMAGE YOU WOULD LIKE USED AS A THUMBNAIL FOR THIS POSTING

ARE YOU OKAY WITH YOUR PIECE BEING SUBMITTED TO THE MEDIA IF REQUESTED (yes or no)? (this is NOT a pre-requisite, but it makes it easier to ask now, just in case the need arises)

Finally, please attach any work that you are submitting (with the exception of video links). Please don’t just include a link to your professional website (I said that nicely, I swear! It’s just I never know what to look at and then there’s this whole back and forth via email blah blah)

**PLEASE NOTE - Due to the high number of submissions, we will only be able to notify those who have been selected to be showcased on the site. If selected, we will contact you to let you know that it’s being posted.

Email these submissions to socialdistancingfestival@gmail.com with the above information. General inquiries from individuals and arts organizations can also be sent to nick@socialdistancingfestival.com - please indicate “inquiry” in the subject line.

Thanks everyone! I know that’s a lot of info! Again, I’m so sorry that with the volume of submissions we are not able to post everything that comes in.

Be well and keep on creating!!! The world needs your brilliance and your community is rooting for you!
