“Take It or Leave It”

Victoria, CANADA - Singer/songwriter Matt Stern was slated to perform songs from his new album “Take It Or Leave It” at the Jeux de la francophone canadienne this summer in Victoria and was in touch with the Canadian Embassy in Tokyo to discuss performing at the Olympics. COVID-19 put these plans on hold, so Matt created a video. The inspiration for the music video was a friend spontaneously sending him a video of herself dancing to “Take It Or Leave It”in her living room. Matt thought about all the people sharing home concerts and dance videos online and was compelled to open up an invitation for people to send in videos of themselves dancing captured on their phones. He compiled them into this music video. In contrast with the highly curated social media content we're used to absorbing, what’s refreshing about this is the spontaneity, diversity and naturalness of expression. It manages to capture people's joy and spirit with a kind of candour.
