New York, USA - Founded by Leopold Stokowski in 1962, the American Symphony Orchestra presents hematic programming, in which musical works are curated around ideas drawn from a variety of disciplines such as history, visual arts, science, politics and literature. The remainder of ASO’s season was cancelled due to the pandemic, In response, ASO will release a recording of a past performance online every Wednesday. Content will be available for 45 days and will alternate weekly between ​live video recordings of SummerScape operas and audio recordings from previous ASO concerts that you can enjoy in your home. Available performances now are Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s The Miracle of Heliane and William Grant Still’s Africa, Suite for Orchestra, both conducted by Leon Botstein.
