Someone’s in here

Montréal, QC, CANADA - I feel like so many of us see isolation as a cold and lonely affair, when a silver lining could possibly be the relationships we’re fostering with ourselves. This submission by Artist, Alissa Zilber, depicts bodies alone in space, but their inner worlds are suggested through the Artists filter, highlighting a vibrancy that we might otherwise let pass by.

Boston, MA/New York, NY, USA - Adversity continues to breed innovation. While this piece may have originally been planned for the stage, it breathes so easily in it’s virtual form that I can’t imagine it any other way. Press play and lose yourself in this perfect marriage of movement, music, and cloudy vista.

The Importance of Art in the Time of Coronavirus

Toronto, CANADA - Art directly dealing with our current reality is hard to face, I’m dreading the inevitable coming-of-age series titled something akin to “Quaranteens”, but this piece does so beautifully. Chatham, NY USA - This submission made me stop to catch my breath. I felt oddly at home looking through these pieces, which I must attribute to the twist in perception that’s recently been forced on most of us. Stop, take a breather, and let your eye dance through some robust thematic ideas and details.

Georgia Bennett, Joel Cumber, and Kelsey Verzotti are not only three extremely talented performers in Toronto, they’re also roommates. Faced with lost work and with fewer auditions on the horizon, these three created the Quarantrio, covering a variety of songs in stunning, perfect three-part harmony. And HOLY CRAP they are good.
